ALPHABET SOUP: The Advertising & Marketing Associations
by Ken Custer
In any industry, the standards, ethics and education of its members is usually best provided by professional organizations formed to support that industry. Advertising and marketing is no exception.
There are over 20 professional organizations that support the industry in Denver alone. These organizations consist of members from the professional community and represent all phases of the advertising and marketing industry. Through these organizations, the standards in Denver continue to rise and more and more national and international recognition is achieved.
It is imperative that those of us working in the industry support these organizations, not just with membership, but with active participation. The true benefits are realized by exhibiting your abilities on committees and in leadership roles.
In recent years, there have been situations arise that, because specific organizations existed and could act, events that threatened their phase of the business were met and corrected. Whether it was the elimination of specific types of advertising through legislation or the loss of funding by government entities, the organizations responded and worked to solve the problem.
Following is a recap of all organizations that Advertising & Marketing Review has been able to identify and capture information about. If you are not already involved, select the one that best suits your needs and get involved.
