It's always a delight to feature the great work of the Colorado Association of Media Photographers' work in the ASMP Photo Annual. The judges always have a tough time narrowing the entries down to a number of images we can fit into the magazine. Again, thanks to Glenn Cuerden for arranging the entire show and to Gary Reed at Reed Photo-Imaging for hosting the judging.
The computer gremlins again attacked one of our advertisers in the April issue. PGM Integrated had prepared a really cool ad for the back cover and somewhere in the process the image that was supposed to bleed through the design didn't and the entire effect of the ad was lost. Take a look at PGM's great creative and the way the ad was supposed to look on page 16.
The Colorado Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. As part of that celebration they co-sponsored the Damon Runyon Awards presentation with the Denver Press Club on Sunday April 12. Over 750 people attended the event that honored Tim Russert of NBC's Meet the Press. The evening was a great success with many local and state dignitaries in attendance. A big thank you to the PRSA for inviting me as their guest. Look for more later this year on the PRSA's 50th Anniversary.
The awards season is upon us. The Colorado Chapter of the Business Marketing Association Gold Key Awards is Saturday, May 3 at the Cable Center on the DU campus. American Marketing Association Peak Awards are set for June 12 at the Belmar Event Center in Lakewood, Entry deadlines are May 6 to save money for early entries and May 16 is the standard entry deadline. The Art Directors Club of Denver Annual Show call for entry deadline is May 7. Check the organizations' Websites for details.
The Rocky Mountain Advertising Golf Association has put out a call for membership. This is your chance to play some great private courses this summer and enjoy an outing with some very good golfers. Speaking of golf, the BMA annual tournament is May 12 at Columbine Country Club and the RMDMA has set the Un-tournament of Golf for June 27 at Homestead Golf Course. Check their websites for entry information.
